Forever Stripes Shawl

The Forever Stripes Shawl is a triangular shawl that is crocheted bottom up. This pattern is made in tree steps, the shawl base, the surface crochet stripes and the fringe.
You start with the shawl base, which is a simple mesh pattern worked in rows bottom up with increases
on both sides. As you go you will also add the surface crochet stripes on top of the base. Last the fringe
is made, including all the ends left from the base and stripes, which means that there will be no ends to fasten!
The pattern includes a full color guide and instructions how to customize the size.
This shawl is also great as cover up around your hips when visiting the beach.

Pattern features:

  • Written pattern in English (US and UK terminology), Danish, Dutch, French, German, Slovak, Spanish and Swedish.
  • Photo tutorials to show the neccesary steps of the pattern.
  • Directions how to customize the size.
  • Stitch count.
  • Color guide.

Stitches used in this pattern (US terms):

Chain, slip stitch, slip stitch back loop only and double crochet.

Yarn & Size:

To make my Forever Stripes Shawl I used the yarn Svarta Fåret Cecilia (50g/110m; 53% Cotton/33% Viskose/14% Linen) in the following colors:

2 x color 39 Brick Red
1 x color 70 Niagara Blue
2 x color 25 Wooden Brown
2 x color 48 Hot Fuchsia
2 x color 85 Brick Orange
2 x color 42 Misty Magenta

Since it’s so easy to customize this shawl you can use almost any yarn. Play with colors, use two different yarn cakes (one for the base and one for the stripes and tassels) or make it in two colors, only your creativity sets the limit. This is a great pattern for stash busting and using up bits and pieces from old projects.

If you use the same yarn and hook as the pattern suggests the shawl will measure approx. 170x130x130cm after blocking fringe not included.

Hook: 4.5mm and 5.0mm

    1. Hi,

The Lost in Time shawl pattern is a free download. Did you pay somewhere for it?
If you did, please let me know so that I can look into who is selling my free pattern.

My color guide is on the same page as you download the pattern.

      Lost in Time
