The Starla Christmas Bouble is a nice introduction to surface mosaic type of crochet. You crochet two round pieces with the star motif, and then you crochet them together and fill the bouble with a small amount of filling.
In this pattern i use one of my favorite yarn, Scheepjes Maxi Sugar Rush, wich is a thin mercerized cotton yarn that comes in 87 fabolous colours. The same yarn is also available in smaller 25 g skeins that is called Scheepjes Maxi Bon Bon.
