The Windsurfer Shawl is a colorful triangular shawl perfect for summer nights or to wrap around you after swimming, or windsurfing, in the ocean. The combination of moss stitches and Scheepjes Whirl yarn makes the shawl light, soft and warm. The color transitions made with two different Whirls are just mesmerizing throughout the whole project.
I combined the colors 766, Mid Morning Mocha’roo (starting from the outside) and 768, Sherbet Rainbow (starting from the inside) and used hook 3.0 mm. The final size is approx. 160 x 120 x 120 cm.
The Windsurfer Shawl is crocheted in short rows, from one side to the other, alternating between the two colors every other row. With a special technique you will not have to cut your yarn until the shawl is finished, so there will only be 4 ends to fasten at the end of the project.

Hi Johanna,
I’d love to buy you a coffee, but the link is not working (at least from my phone).
As always, I love your designs.

Beautiful! Looking forward to making it, and I would love to make it in the colours you suggest – are you sure about the colour of the whirls? I just cant find the deep dark colour in either mocharoo or sherbet? Or are the colors just completely wrong on my computer?

hi, I’m making the shawl, but it’s coming out like a thin triangle. Is this correct? Could you post a picture of it laying flat please? Thanks Jo x

Hi, the shawl should be a symetrical triangle, if it is coming out thin you are missing increases in the begining or end of the rows.
I don’t have a picture with it all spread out but the shape is like a regular triangular shawl.
I hope this helps / Johanna
