Hej,
(Marianne Johansson)

Hi. Have you thought about adding a stitch count to each row? I have attempted this several times and I can’t keep the edge straight. I’m thinking my stitch count may be off but I’m not certain. I have tried to figure it myself, but I am not sure it’s correct. Thank you so much 🙂
LikeLike
Hi! At the moment I wont add the stitch count since its a free pattern. Every row increases with 4 stitches/side. So if you have 5 stitches/side, next row should have 9/side. Dont forget to count the ch-1 sp to as stitches 🙂
LikeLike
Row 8 is an easy place to make a mistake.
As it reads …..1 DC in every DC and every CH 1 space up until last CH1 space, there is an extra space in the last loop because the row 7 before was a Ch4 not a CH3. Meaning you will do a DC in that last CH4 and then do the 3DC in the top of Chain. Then count both sides, I bet it works out. 😎

Hi! I have decided to not let anyone make videos of my patterns at the moment. This is because I might do this myself so that I can control my patterns. Right now (sadly) they have been spread against my copyright and it takes me alot of time to try to catch these. I hope you understand 💗 Johanna

Hi I really need your help with the secret path Shawl. I only finished up to row 18 and the ends are curling up and the shawl is really ruffling. Doesn’t lay flat or straight. I followed the instructions to the letter. Are there any corrections that were made?
I made the Lost In Time Shawl and that was fine, no problems with that one. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Linda Piperata

I would like to make this shawl in a less angular version -so I’d like to have the width at the top but a slightly shorter “point” for the triangle (if that makes sense ;-)). Any ideas how to achieve this?
LikeLike
Hi! Since that would take some time to count out I cant give you a simple answer to that 🙂

Thanks anyway 😊 I actually managed to change it by increasing twice in the centerpoint and 3 times in the ends. It takes a bit of fiddling here and there but it works 😀

It doesn’t say anywhere that I can find how much yarn is needed. I understand it varies depending on weight and hook, but for the one you made with light fingering, hook size and approximate yardage used would be so helpful. Thank you for this gorgeous pattern!

This is absolutely gorgeous! I have printed the pattern to make this BUT I haven’t started because your pattern doesn’t include any instructions for the popcorn or puff stitches, there are different types of each and no indication of what your pattern requires. Could you reply with directions please?? and maybe consider adding a description of how to do any fancy stitches in your patterns and not just write in “puff stitch” because some people may not have a clue what to do, I even googled how to do those stitches and there are so many different options I have no idea which to do.

Hi Kelly! In the pattern where the stitches used are listed there is a link provided to my stitch tutorials. All fancy stitches can be found there. Please take another look.

Hi, I’m just working on that gorgious shawl.
To make it easy for me, I downlowded the German pattern and found, there is a mistake in row 6. Acc. to the German pattern, this row should end with a bpdc in the 3rd chain from the beginning of the previous row.
This is obviously wrong. Maybe you want to correct this.
Any beginner in crocheting will be very greatful for it.
Anyhow, thank you for all your wonderful pattern. Only problem is, to decide, which one to work. They are all too beautiful…….

Hi, it’s me again. Saw today you corrected the German pattern. Sorry to say it is still wrong😟
Following the original pattern you have to work 3 dc into the 3rd chain of the previous row. The German translation says: 1dc into 3rd chain.

Hi,
I want to make this, but it would help if I had the type and names of the colors for Secret Paths shawl, specifically for the photo I found of it called Jess the Hooker and the lengths required for each color. Thanks so much.

Hi! You have to ask Jess the Hooker what colours and amounts she have used since she made it 😉

This is a beautiful pattern? If i crochet less rows could i make a triangular scarf size or would the length be too short to drape around? I was thinking of using Bernat Pop, which i think is aran weight. Thanks x

Thank you! 🙂 I have no experience with that yarn. I guess a scarf size would work but ofc the lenght would be reduced. It depends on how long you think is ok 🙂

Hi, I’m very stuck on rows 16-17. Until now, every row has increased by 8 stitches. But I can’t get 16 and 17 to increase by 8.
Which stitches should I be counting on row 16? Do I count the two chains at the top of the triangle? My count for row 16 is 124 including all chains.
In row 17 there are only 4 extra stitches. 1 at the bottom of each side and 2 at the top.
I know why you don’t want to include all the stitch counts but I’m just so stuck. I’ve stitched this and ripped it back out multiple times and I don’t want to try again because my yarn will get damaged.
Thank you

Hi Laura,
You increase with 4 stitches/side (= 8/row) always. You make row 16 almost in the same way as row 15, just alter every other dc for a popcorn. The 2 stitches increased in the beginning is ch 1 + 1 dc. When you start with ch 4 it equals 1 dc + ch 1. Then you make a dc in the same stitch and you have increased with 2 stitches. Never count the ch 2 in the tip as stitches. I dont have a shawl with me so I cant count the specific stitches for you. I hope this helps 🙂

Question… I just started crocheting in January and I am making my first shawl out of scheepjes whirl yarn. I was doing great until I realized I got off on my row count and frogged the section I messed up on. I have started again and now it will not lay flat. Maybe my popcorn stitch is too tight. What do I need to do? Thanks in advance!
