Droplets är en triangulär sjal som virkas fram och tillbaka, från sida till sida. Efter de inledande varven består mönstret av åtta varv som repeteras tills sjalen har den storlek som önskas. Detta gör att du kan använda vilket garn och virknål som helst och enkelt anpassa antal varv på din sjal. Lite längre ner på sidan finns fler bilder, garnförslag och garnmängder angivna.

Mönstret är en PDF-fil och är ett skrivet mönster som innehåller många förklarande bilder.

Droplets is a triangular shawl that is crocheted back and forth, from one side to the other. After the first starting rows this pattern consists of 8 repeatable rows which makes it very easy to customize the size, and you can use any wheight yarn with suitable hook for this design. There is more pictures of this shawl and some yarn suggestions below.

Garnförslag / Yarn suggestions:

Denna Droplets-sjal är virkad med virknål 3.5 mm och garnet Scheepjes Whirl, färg 776 Rosewater Cocktail. Ett nystan räcker gott och väl till denna sjal. Jag använde inte ett helt nystan och sjalen mäter 160 x 120 x 120 cm efter blockning. 

This Droplets shawl is made with hook 3.5 mm and the yarn Scheepjes Whirl, color 776 Rosewater Cocktail. One cake is enough for this pattern. I didn’t use a whole cake and the shawl measures 160 x 120 x 120 cm (63 x 47 in) after blocking.

Till denna Droplets sjal använde jag det lite grövre garnet Scheepjes Secret Garden och virknål 4.5 mm. Jag använde två färger av garnet och gjorde sjalen randig, hur du gör detta är beskrivet i mönstret. Färgerna är 707 och 701, och det gick åt tre nystan av vardera färg.

For this Droplets shawl I used the thicker yarn Scheepjes Secret Garden and hook 4.5 mm. I used two colors and made the shawl striped, how to do so is described in the pattern. The colors are 707 and 701, and three skeins of each color was needed.

Blocka din sjal / Block your shawl:

Jag rekommenderar att blocka dina virkade sjalar för att framhäva maskdefinitionen, få en snyggare form och ett bättre fall. Information om hur man blockar finns här.

I recommend to block your crocheted shawls to increase the stitch definition, get a better shape and a more beautiful drape. Information about blocking is available here.

    My only problem is the blocking: I don’t have enough infrastructure to do blocking; and I don’t want to spend money on stuff I don’t know how to use …
    Can you recommend a really good instructional video or text for blocking, please ?

    1. I use a yoga mat and ordinary sewing pins. There seems to be a few different ways of going about it. I’ve been knitting for years and hadn’t blocked anything until a couple of years ago. I’ve only blocked shawls.

  4. I wish you would give a gauge I made the lost in time shawl and it is gorgeous but too small to wear as seen in the photo. When i added more rows it became unwieldy and too heavy

    1. Im sorry to hear that, did you use any of the yarn I suggested?
      The Droplets pattern is made for any gauge and I made two in different wheight and I think both is great. Did you take a look at the yarn suggestions?

  5. I’m not very good and can only manage simple things, I would like to follow a cal and love yours coming up soon! As a novice do you think I could follow or would it be a waste of time?

      Its hard to me to know how much you actually can do, but I generally think that most of us can do way more than we think 🙂 I just started a FB-group “Mijo Crochet Hangout” where you will be able to ask questions and get help from me or fellow crocheters.
