Wild Wheat Shawl / Sjal

Wild Wheat shawl is crecent shaped and can be made in any yarn with suitable hook, you just make the number of rows you like for your size.

To make the shawl above I used the yarn Viking Nordlys from Favoritgarnet. I’ts a superwash wool yarn that comes in 100g skeins. I used one skein and hook 3.5 mm and made three repetitions of the pattern.

For this green shawl I used 3 skeins of the yarn Scheepjes Secret Garden, colour 702, herb garden. Secret Garden is a soft and a little thicker yarn made of silk and cotton together with polyester. I made two repetitions of the pattern and used hook 5.0 mm.

For this shawl I used one skein of Scheepjes Star Dust colour 660. Star Dust is a soft, glittering and airy yarn made of wool, mohair and polyester. With hook 3.5 mm and four repetitions of the pattern this became a really big shawl to wrap around cold shoulders (180 x 55 cm).

Anna used the yarn Scheepjes Wanderlust (from Favoritgarner) which is a very soft single spun acrylic yarn with beautiful colour changes. 1.

    1. Hej Helena!

  4. Thank you for sharing your lovely patterns.
I am working on this one (Wild Wheat Shawl) and I have a doubt: I have done chart 1 and now have to go on with rows 8 to 14, that means that I have to cut yarn and begin in chart 2 in the central increases??
Sorry if is a silly question.

    Tack 🙂

    1. Hi! Dont cut yarn 🙂 Chart 2 only shows how to make the increas in the middle shell. So you continue like before and just add that increas every 7th row. If you look at a picture of the shawl I think you can see what I mean. I hope this helps 🙂

    1. Hi there! I just downloaded the file and tried the link and it worked. But anyway, if you go to the menu and then stitch tutorials you will find the kind of picot used there 😊 Enjoy your crochet and have a nice weekend 🌸

  8. Absolutely beautiful shawl! Gorgeous! One question….how do I start this? Do I do the right side of the chart, then go to the left, or vice versa….just a little confused….never did a pattern that was all chart, and no words, but, I’m up for the challenge!

    1. Hi and thank you!
You read row 1 from right to left. Row 2 from left to right. Row 3 from right to left….. and so on. You can see that each row starts with a number of chains.
      I hope this helps 🙂

  9. I am one of those people who need written instructions. I have been crocheting since I was 7 years old, however, I still have to have a written pattern with the stitches, spaces etc.
This is a beautiful shawl, and I would love to make it.

  10. Perfect chart; thank you. I was looking for something to use my two balls of Malabrigo Rios in archangel — and it made three repeats (– with a little Malabrigo purple mystery for edging ) —- just right for keeping shoulders warm in Florida “winter.”

  11. I’m glad I read the comments cuz as soon as I got to row 8 I became the one ant in “A Bug’s Life.” “I’M LOOOOOST!!!” LOL. I picked this pattern because I wanted something a little spooky to go with my Halloween color way of Hobbi’s Universe XL. This shawl looked perfect. I also did not pay attention that this was a chart, not a written pattern. My only note would be adding a note to the PDF letting us know that the edge increases continue as normal, cuz I am dumb and did not understand. Otherwise I’m glad it’s a chart and it is working up beautifully! Thank you!

    1. I’m happy to hear that you like my patter over all 🙂 Thank you for your input! This is a pattern that I made a long time ago, and I’m planing to make a new written version of this pattern.
